FAQs

~ When should I book Joining Hearts Ceremonies?

You should book as soon as you have decided on a date, even if you haven't booked your venue yet.
Many officiants and other vendors book up to 1 or 2+ years in advance.  Short notice ceremonies can sometimes be accommodated as well.

~ Do you require a deposit?

I require a 50% non-refundable deposit at time of booking with the balance payable by the week before or at the rehearsal.

~ Are there any other additional fees?

A nominal travel/mileage fee from the perimeter to venue and back (per Google Maps) may be applicable for venues outside the Perimeter.  Applicable to ceremony and rehearsal.  Ask for an estimate.

For venues in downtown Winnipeg a nominal fee may be charged for valet service/indoor parking.  Applicable to ceremony and rehearsal.  Cost will be discussed at time of booking.

~ What will Sheri wear?

Sheri will wear conservative, business-style attire, usually black or black with white or neutral colour.

She also has a black cloak and white stole with gold rings and hearts she can wear for a more judicial or reverent look if requested.

~ Do we need a formal rehearsal?

Rehearsals are an individual choice.  It is highly recommended for weddings with more than 2 attendants on each side. Rehearsals can be added to your services for only $125.  We also offer an abbreviated rehearsal 1 hour prior to the ceremony for only $75.

~ What name do I sign the Marriage Licence with?

You would sign the documents with your name prior to marriage.

~ What if Sheri is unable to perform our ceremony?

In the very unlikely event something unforeseen comes up and Sheri unable to perform the ceremony she has a network of commissioners who will fill in.
I will ensure the marriage commissioner has your ceremony and your licence so it will be a seamless transfer.  We are part of a group of marriage commissioners who have each other's backs.

Send Sheri a note via the contact page if you have any other questions!
