~ When should I book Joining Hearts Ceremonies?
You should book as soon as you have decided on a date, even if you haven't booked your venue yet.
Many officiants book up to 1 or 2 years in advance. Short notice ceremonies can often be accommodated as well.
~ Do you require a deposit?
We do require a 50% non-refundable deposit (*exceptions may apply due to COVID-19) at time of booking for the Ultimate, Unforgettable and Simply Sweet packages in order to hold the date and time with the balance payable at or before the rehearsal/pre-wedding meeting.
The Sealed with a Kiss package is payable at time of booking.
~ Are there any other additional fees?
A nominal travel/mileage fee of 45 cents per km from the perimeter to venue and back (per Google Maps) may be applicable for venues outside the Perimeter. Applicable to ceremony and rehearsal.
For venues in downtown Winnipeg an nominal fee may be charged for valet service/indoor parking. Applicable to ceremony and rehearsal.
~ What will Sheri wear?
Sheri will wear conservative, business-style attire, usually black or black with white. When possible she will also try to co-ordinate with the colour theme.
She also has a black cloak and white stole with gold rings and hearts she can wear for a more judicial or reverent look if requested.
~ Do we need a formal rehearsal?
Our ceremonies includes a rehearsal or pre-wedding planning meeting. Small ceremonies do not need a full rehearsal as the format of the ceremony may be discussed with the couple at a pre-wedding meeting.
Prior to the ceremony on the wedding day Sheri will arrive approximately 30 minutes before ceremony time, meet with the couple and their attendants to inform/remind them of the logistics for the processional and recessional.
~ What name do I sign the Marriage Licence with?
You would sign the documents with your name prior to marriage.
~ What if Sheri is unable to perform our ceremony?
In the very unlikely event something unforeseen comes up and Sheri is unable to perform the ceremony she will provide another commissioner at no cost to you. She will ensure the commissioner has your ceremony and your licence.
